After several big wins during September and October, our senior football team topped their group and progressed to the quarter final of the Corn Frank Cahill competition. We welcomed Scoil Naithi to Sean Moore Park. The Star team played with skill, composure and great commitment against strong opponents. It was not to be our day, however, with the result only decided in the final minute. The boys were very disappointed but gracious in defeat. Several boys had their best ever match in the Star jersey and everyobe believed this would be a ‘Croke Park’ year. Following the mid term break, we have commenced hurling training each Tuesday and Thursday. Cross country training is ongoing each Monday and Wednesday.

Our fifth and sixth classes were very fortunate to receive a block of boxing lessons from Olympic gold mesallist, Michael Carruth. These sessions were unlike anything the boys had experienced before from a fitness-building point of view. We are so grateful to Michael for giving us his time and sharing his knowledge with us.

Jamie and Alex from Wanderers FC coached Rugby in the astro yard during September and October. The boys very much enjoyed their sessions and the standard of running, catching and throwing improved throughout the duration of the block. Kenny Carroll has commenced hockey coaching during November. Pupils with PE on Mondays are receiving gymnastics coach in the hall for an 8 week block. After Christmas, pupils who have PA on Thursdays will start gymnastics. Fourth class is currently enjoying a block of swimming lessons in SportsCo, with third class having enjoyed the first set of lessons this school year.
