The boys on our senior and junior football squads have been training two and sometimes three times a week since the start of the new term. We are improving every day and the enthusiasm of the boys is infectious. The senior team enjoyed useful friendly matches against St. Mary’s Booterstown and St. Michael’s junior school before starting their Cumann na mBunscol (Corn Frank Cahill) campaign with a home win against St. Anne’s of Shankhill. The next two matches are away to Our Lady’s Grove Goatsatown and St. Mary’s Donnybrook.
Our junior team played the first match of the season away to St. Brigid’s, Foxrock. The boys performed well against a strong St. Brigid’s side, with the home team coming out on top. The junior team’s next game is at home to St. Cristopher’s.
As always, we thank our teachers who volunteer their time to coach and manage our football squads. We are grateful to Clanna Gael Fontenoys: we are so fortunate to have such great facilities right beside our school, allowing us to train all year round.
