All classes from Third to Sixth participated in Internet Safety Month during February.  The boys learned about keeping safe online.  Our guest speaker was Reuben the Entertainer.  He performed his show ‘Hacked’ in our school hall.  This was a great event with an important message.

We celebrated Maths Week once again this year.  The emphasis across the school was on fun through maths learning.  We played maths games, solved puzzles, went on maths trails and took part in maths quizzes.  It was a great week!

Both our junior and senior quiz teams took part in the Credit Union primary school quiz during February.  Both teams performed well and represented the school with pride.  We thank Ms Walsh who mentored the teams this year.

We were delighted to welcome several past pupils back to Star of the Sea following the Clanna Gael under-21s victory in the Dublin champuonship.  Daragh Lawlor, Darragh McDonnell, Tom McGrath, Jack Flanagan, Oisín Darcy and Dean Holmes were fantastic footballers for Star in the past and they were happy to speak to our current pupils about how they achieved success as a team.  The Clanna Gael players were kind enough to mention the development and coaching that they received while in Star.  We are blessed to have so many great past pupils for our current boys to look up to.  A happy occasion for the school and the community!

Our Christmas Carol Servive was a great success this year.  The Carol Service is always a great team effort between pupils, teachers and families, with all working together so that the boys can perform many Christmas songs and carols to a high standard.  Well done to all involved, and with St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church packed to the rafters, thanks to all who attended.

Our third class pupils made the trip to Beggar’s Bush to vsit the Irish Print Museum.  They had great fun learning about print and taking part in print-making activities.
