Gaelic Football Season Underway
Our senior and junior football squads have been training each Tuesday and Thursday since the beginning of September. Our Fourth Class boys have also been training twice a week. Both squads have played three Cumann na mBunscol matches. Every boy who has worn the Star jersey has shown skill and determination. Our senior team is hoping to progress to the next round of Corn na nGearaltach. Our aim is to progress to the final, as we did last year.
Swimming Resumes For Star Boys
All boys in our senior school will receive swimming lessons in SportsCo this year. First to commence their set of 8 lessons has been Mr Neary’s Third Class. They are delighted with the high standard of instruction from the coaches in SportsCo.
Hurling Final In Croke Park
Our amazing hurlers reached the final of Corn JMOB and recently played their final match in Croke Park. It was a fantastic day for our school and the boys played very well. Congratulations to the boys and their coaches, Mr Collins, Mr O’Brollacháin and Mr O’Maonaile on reaching the Cumann na mBunscol finals in both football and hurling. An exceptional year for Star of the Sea.
Star Cricket
Our boys have received cricket coaching from Fintan McAllister this year. The Primary Schools Cup did not take place but our team played a series of friendly matches against Willow Park. The boys enjoyed participating in cricket this year.

Our Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Class boys have been doing two training sessions a week since the start of term three. They are improving all the time. Our senior hurlers have been playing very well, winning all of their matches and reaching the Cumann na mBunscol final in Croke Park.
