Hurling Update

7th September 2026

The school’s senior hurling team represented Star of the Sea with pride this season.  The boys emerged from their Cumann na mBunscol group with some impressive wins and eye-catching performances.  The quarter final draw took the team to Malahide to play St. Oliver Plunkett School.  The Star Boys fought bravely but could not match a powerful.  Over the season, from November to June, every Star of the Sea Player improved his hurling skills.  The team shared cameraderie and friendship. Our junior hurling teams saw boys from third and fourth classes get to wear the Star jersey for the first time.  We are excited about the talent coming through the school!

We thank the coaches: Mr Meenan, Mr O’Brollacháin, Mr O’Maonaile and Ms Kennelly.  Their voluntary commitment to coaching and mentoring our senior and junior teams made the season a success.

Athletics: Santry Games

7th September 2026

We had another great athletics season this year.  The season reached its climax with the Santry games.  All of the boys selected to represent the school performed very well.  We were delighted to win gold and silver medals.  Reflecting upon the season, we are proud of the boys who trained every Tuesday and Thursday.  Every boy improved over the school year.  Our athletics and cross country programmes would not be possible without our volunteer teachers.  We express our thanks to Ms O’Hara, Ms Mannion, Ms Conway and Ms Doyle.
