Our School
Star of the Sea Boys National School is a primary school for boys of junior infant to sixth class age. We are a Catholic school under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin. Star of the Sea BNS adopts an expansive syllabus that draws upon the Irish primary school curriculum.
At our school, the value respect for one another is encouraged at every turn. We seek to live out the Gospel message and to love our neighbour. We emphasise the fostering of academic discipline, creative expression, physical fitness and the pursuit of excellence in all that we do.
Community is a vital part of life in the area. Many of our families have been with the school for generations

Over many years, Star of the Sea BNS has established a proud record of educating and including pupils with a wide range of educational needs. In partnership with families and the wider school community, we seek to deliver meaningful inclusion to all of our pupils in each aspect of school life. We encourage every pupil to try their very best while participating in all of the broad aspects of school life.

Community
Star of the Sea BNS serves the community of Sandymount Parish in Dublin 4. The school is located on the site of the church of St. Mary, Star of the Sea. Traditionally, the school has educated pupils from Irishtown and Ringsend as well as other parts of Dublin 4.
The Star of the Sea school community continues to be a vital, supportive part of life in the area. Our families help one another and work together to create the best possible school environment in which to have their sons educated. Many of our families have been with the school for generations.
The school community is very welcoming to new families moving
to the area. Our active Parents Association provides a network for parents whereby they can get to know each other, support the work of the school and organise fundraising events and initiatives such as our annual Christmas Fair and our Star Boys Calendar.
